Founded in 2000, the Building & Fire Code Academy (BFCA) is a global training institution dedicated to providing code enforcement education to building and fire inspectors based on the International Codes, Illinois Plumbing Code, National Electrical Code, Life Safety Code and the legal aspects of code administration.
Richard A. Piccolo, the president of B & F Construction Code Services, Inc. founded BFCA after years of conducting training seminars nationwide in all the model building codes while serving as adjunct faculty at William Rainey Harper College. As a certified instructor, Piccolo recognized next area of growth would come by providing training and continuing education for professionals in code-related careers, and BFCA was born.
Building & Fire Code Academy is not accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
BFCA is approved by the Private Business and Vocational Schools Division of the Illinois Board of Higher Education.
BFCA is located at 2420 Vantage Drive in Elgin, Illinois.
